Your local levy dollars at work
Local levy dollars are making a visible difference across the district— strengthening school safety, while sustaining programs that help students discover their interests and prepare for the future.
This fall, students and staff returned to five more schools with completed secure entryways: Adams, McDonald, South Pines and University elementary schools, along with Bowdish Middle School.
These projects are part of the Capital Safety, Facilities and Technology Improvements Levy, approved by voters in 2024. Five additional entryways were completed in 2025 at Broadway, Liberty Lake and Progress elementary schools, Summit School and Greenacres Middle School, bringing all 10 projects to completion—delivering on our levy promises five years ahead of schedule.
The new safer entryways add a layer of protection by directing visitors through a controlled entrance and into the school office before they access the building.
Accelerating the work through a creative financial loan plan, allowed the district to deliver these improvements sooner, while avoiding construction-cost increases over the next five years.
At Bowdish, local support extends far beyond the front doors. Levy-supported educational programs and staffing help students participate in hands-on Career and Technical Education (CTE) experiences, including engineering, design, tools and 3-D printing. These classes connect classroom learning to real-world problem-solving and introduce students to pathways they may pursue in high school, college or a career.
Together, these investments show the complementary roles of the community’s support of local levies: capital dollars improve facilities, safety and technology, while Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) levy dollars help sustain the opportunities that bring learning to life.
